Reports

During my travels, I received free accommodation for a night in exchange for writing a daily travel diary. This diary documented how I reached my next destination, the hosts who welcomed me, the food I was offered, and other experiences along the way. Below, you will find the archives of these extensive reports. Please note that English is not my native language, and most entries were written quickly, often around midnight. Enjoy!

Townsville --> Magnetic Island, Australia

From Julie's place in Townsville we both got on the ferry to Magnetic Island, a wonderful place to live and to stay for a while. I am probably not leaving before the laptop has arrived and that might take a while ;-(

Two thirds of Magnetic Island is national park featuring huge strands of eucalyptus trees and abundant wildlife, including koalas, wallabies, kangaroos and varied birdlife. There are 23 beaches and bays with golden sand; some not even easily accessible. There are nearly 25 km of walking tracks so its easy to find one suitable for my level of fitness.

I like it here!
