Reports
During my travels, I received free accommodation for a night in exchange for writing a daily travel diary. This diary documented how I reached my next destination, the hosts who welcomed me, the food I was offered, and other experiences along the way. Below, you will find the archives of these extensive reports. Please note that English is not my native language, and most entries were written quickly, often around midnight. Enjoy!Tuesday, 14 May 2002
--> Townsville, Australia
After a good sleep the day started off with Darren coming back home from the radio station.
Today he was going to have the local newspaper, The Bulletin, visiting for an interview and a photoshooting, as Darren was going to perform in town with a one-man-show next week.
That was funny, this time the journalist didn't come for me (yet, as will be seen tomorrow). But while he was being interviewed, I got a phone call from the Proserpine Guardian newspaper who had a chat with me for the newspaper in Proserpine, just south of Townsville.
At the comfort of their home I watched some TV-movies during the rest of the day and without a phoneline, a pc, Internet or a laptop, I had quite a relaxing day.
After dinner Darren took me up onto Castle Hill, the almost-mountain that's just in the centre of Townsville. Just out of nothing, there is suddenly this big hill!
We watched the sun go down and as it goes here, it's immediately dark afterwards.
Good night Townsville!
Ramon.
