From Castelldefe, south of Barcelona, my hostess for last night, Evelyne Hollands, drove me back to Barcelona.

Here I met up with Pablo Lamarca, who invited me at his and his parent's home. Pablo is a technical engineering student and teaches English at the university too!

He took me out for dinner, tapas, in an old area of town called El Borne. And I might have eaten enough tapas for a while now...

Leaving the house of Evelyne Hollands in Castelldefe.

And early in the morning, we got on the road to Barcelona city.

In the north of Barcelona, Evelyne dropped Margot off at her school.

And we drove through Barcelona. The city with the splendid architecture by/inspired by the artist Gaudi.

Evelyne and I had breakfast in a little tavern across her officek, where she received her letmestayforaday-gift from my previous host Fran Reneses in Madrid:

a collection box with the original gold plated ten peseata coins...

A quick view of one of the corners of the Placa Catalunya, THE place to be and the centre of Barcelona that everybody should know.

Even in historical theatres like these, Harry Potter is popular too.

I had to photograph this piece from the L Avanguaria newspaper in Barcelona. Telling me that there was a cold record the last days. It was -21 degrees Celsius in the North of Spain. That is really was -9 degrees in the train to Barcelona is absolutely true.

Basically the whole city is dotted with smooth Gaudi architecture.

Pablo Lamarca was my next host in Catalunya, which is how this part of Spain is called. And the people do not speak Spanish, but more Catalan.

I enjoyed it how Pablo tried to find a parking spot near his home. We drove around for almost an hour...

But in return, when we arrived, Pablo offered to carry my HEAVY backpack up to his and parents apartment.

Pablo gave me a present for me personal. The first EURO COIN I had seen and I ever layed my hands from was a Spanish version of the coin.

While I had a short afternoon nap, Pablo prepared his technology lesson for his tomorrow teachings.

For dinner we went out to an old part of Barcelona, where we walked around a lot (Pablo: I think we are lost here)...

I had to shoot this little garage on Passage de Picasso, where art and car tyres decorate the business place.

...until we found that place where the tapas were very delicious and just spread out on the bar. Everybody could just pick his tapa and if you want to pay the bill the waiter counts your woodsticks!

Proof of me enjoying those TAPAS! I start to love Spain, eventhough its very cold here...

And in yet another bar, Pablo and me started with Corona, which is by the way called Coronita in Spain...

Already after midnight and back home at his parents place, Pablo receives his letmestayforaday-gift from my previous hostess Evelyne Hollands: originall bolls for Dutch tullips!

And before we headed to bed, we enjoyed the latest serie of the Amercian tv-show FRIENDS on Pablos computer! Straight from the US and never broadcasted in Europe before! I love Friends!
