Stayed this weekend with Ruben van Tienen and his girlfriend Ann Torild Petersen.

After yesterdays long travelling, Ruben and his girlfriend Ann Torild Petersen, offered me to stay through the weekend. How great it is to wake up here, you can see on this picture. Coffee anyone?

Ruben van Tienen leaving the house for some shopping. At that field next to the house, the NATO will place some of the 2,000 soldiers of the total 20,000 who will be practicing in the valley here the coming winter. Of course, future plans of an attack somewhere on this planet, will withdraw the 500 thanks driving down the road...

Strange thing in Surnadal: electricity at parking spaces. A lot of cars have a cable running from their car to the electricity box in the wintertime, when the temperature can go down to -20 degrees Celsius. The (free) electricity will keep the engines warm while shopping.

At the local toy store in a shopping mall, Ruben stands next to a collection of SeaMonkeys (TM). Together with Ann Torild their company Viastep is the only distribitor of SeaMonkeys in Scandinavia.

SeaMonkeys are living pets, living in this box. They were once introduced in the United States in the 60s, but only recently they came to Europe. Follow the instructions in the box (cook water to kill germs, add little bag one with a water cleanser, add bag two with the seamonkeys eggs and see them come alive immediately! The third little bag contains food for TWO years!) and you will have guaranteed two years of fun with these little creatures!

In Norway it is very normal to have another meal after dinner. Just around nine oclock at night, when your stomach starts to rumble again...

And when the neigbours came over, it is usual to have a few liquor shots with coffee. Saturday night in Surnadal.
